    • Immunofluorescence staining of Hela cell with CSB-PA352689LA01HU at 1:160, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).

    The rabbit was immunized with recombinant human Syncytin-2 protein (16-250aa) to produce the ERVFRD-1 polyclonal antibody, which is an IgG isoform and exhibits a liquid form. This ERVFRD-1 antibody underwent antigen affinity purification. This ERVFRD-1 antibody shows reactivity with the human ERVFRD-1 protein.

    The specificity of this ERVFRD-1 antibody has been validated in ELISA, WB, and IHC. The ERVFRD-1 polyclonal antibody can be used to detect and study the expression of the ERVFRD-1 protein as well as to visualize the distribution of the ERVFRD-1 protein. ERVFRD-1 is a critical protein for placental development and the healthy development of the fetus during pregnancy.

    This endogenous retroviral envelope protein has retained its original fusogenic properties and participates in trophoblast fusion and the formation of a syncytium during placenta morphogenesis. The interaction with MFSD2A is apparently important for this process.; Endogenous envelope proteins may have kept, lost or modified their original function during evolution but this one can still make pseudotypes with MLV, HIV-1 or SIV-1 virions and confer infectivity. Retroviral envelope proteins mediate receptor recognition and membrane fusion during early infection. The surface protein mediates receptor recognition, while the transmembrane protein anchors the envelope heterodimer to the viral membrane through one transmembrane domain. The other hydrophobic domain, called fusion peptide, mediates fusion of the viral membrane with the target cell membrane.
